INNER FAITH MONUMENT
Spatial Design
A monument dedicated to discovering one’s inner faith by crossing a pond. Glass covers certain areas of the pond, which allows the user to feel as if they are walking on water. This element creates a moment of uncertainty, and the center of the pond offers a reward if the user decides to take the chance.
Once the user makes that leap and reaches the center of the pond they can then touch the dampened ground so that their fingertip is lightly covered with mud, and then press it against the white marble column. By leaving their temporary print, it gives the user an opportunity to say “I was here” and encouraging and informing future adventurers that they have taken this special journey.
